I don't know anyone from that area who would fear going to the park. Remember these events are held usually in the morning hours. So I doubt there would be a problem with crime or harassment. Just as there isn't one on Elmwood or Clinton-Bailey.

The use of the paved area around the lighthouse could really provide a neat atmosphere for the market. Vendors ringing around in a circle with the lighthouse in the middle. The stands and people won't cause undo harm to the grassy area as what happened at Bidwell. Highly visible from people traveling down Tonawanda street.

There is also the maintenance buildings for the children's pool. That should be able to provide for water and electricity only about 50' from paved areas.

PS chris69, there is no A in Olmsted...

Perhaps when and IF the Olmsted Conservancy finds funding to reconstruction the original Concourse in Riverside Park then the location would be better suited for that area in the north section of the park.

As for parking there is a whole street with of parking down Crowley, on both sides, as well as a parking lot across the street at Ross and Tonawanda, and if you wanted to walk a little ways there is plenty of parking on Hotaling Drive and down Tonawanda street. If you can't find parking around there you are just too picky.
